01Who we are

Grow a Freak is made by Mad Axe Studios, an independent game studio based in Kathmandu, Nepal. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" mean Mad Axe Studios. We are responsible for this website and for how any personal information connected to it is handled.

02What we collect on this website

We don't collect personal information through this website. It is a read-only preview of the game:

• There are no accounts, sign-up forms, newsletters, comments, or payments.
• We don't use analytics tools, advertising networks, heatmaps, or social-media pixels.
• We don't embed content from other companies. The fonts, scripts, images, and trailer video are all served from this website, so visiting doesn't tell Google, Meta, or anyone else about you.

The only information involved in a visit is the basic technical data every website receives to deliver a page, which is handled by our host (see the next section).

03Hosting & security (Cloudflare)

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To send you the page and protect the site against abuse, Cloudflare automatically processes technical information about each request:

We don't use this data to identify, profile, or contact you, and we don't combine it with other information. Cloudflare acts as our service provider and handles this data under its own privacy policy, including how long it keeps logs.

Where EU or UK data protection law applies, the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in running a website that works and is secure.

04Cookies & local storage

We don't set any cookies, and this website doesn't store anything in your browser's local storage. There's no cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to.

If Cloudflare's security systems suspect automated or malicious traffic, Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie (for example __cf_bm) to tell real visitors apart from bots. These cookies don't track you across websites and aren't used for advertising.

05If you email us

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and handle your request. We keep the conversation only as long as we need it for that, then delete it, unless we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation.

06Children & families

Grow a Freak is being made for a family audience, and this website can be enjoyed by anyone. Because the website collects no personal information, children can visit it without sharing anything about themselves.

We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent where they live, which may be up to 16). If a child emails us, we'll only use their message to reply or to ask a parent or guardian to get in touch, and we'll delete it afterwards. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time.

07The Grow a Freak game

The game hasn't been released yet. Before it launches, we'll update this policy to explain, in the same plain language:

• exactly what information the game uses, if any (for example analytics, crash reports, cloud saves, in-app purchases, or ads);
• which service providers receive it and why;
• the choices and controls you have, including parent or guardian controls where the law requires them.

Our aim is to collect as little as possible. Where the law requires parental consent before collecting a child's information, we'll ask for it first.

08Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU or UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or Nepal's Individual Privacy Act, 2075), you may have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you, and get a copy of it;
• ask us to correct it or delete it;
• object to or restrict how we use it;
• complain to your local data protection authority.

Because this website doesn't collect personal information, we usually won't hold anything about you, but you're always welcome to ask. We'll answer within 30 days. We never sell or "share" personal information for advertising, and we don't make automated decisions about you.

09Where information is processed

Cloudflare runs a global network, so the technical request data described above may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Cloudflare uses legal safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers. We use reasonable technical measures, including HTTPS encryption on every page, to protect information in transit.

10Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when the website or game changes, and always before the game launches. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change affects how we use personal information in a meaningful way, we'll make it clearly visible on the website before it takes effect.
